A V8 engine conversion that’s not an LS? Yes the guys at V-Sport have gone down a slightly different route on their Toyota 86.
The car was initially powered by a high output turbocharged FA20 boxer engine but wanting to push further, the switch was made to a Nissan VK56 5.6L V8 engine that cranks out 800hp and sounds fantastic at 9000rpm, all backed by a Samsonas sequential gearbox. The V-Sport team was on hand for Vic Time Attack at the Phillip Island Grand prix circuit where the car finished third in the third in the Modified Class and was the quickest naturally aspirated RWD car of the event.
