FAST twin turbo street Mustang

Northmead Auto Centre’s Ford Mustang made the trip south for the Sydney vs Melbourne shootout at Heathcote Park recently. After having run a 9.33 at 148mph at Sydney Dragway, the guys were keen to put some more runs on the car.

Upgraded in-house, the Mustang’s Coyote 5ltr remains internally completely stock with low mounted Precision turbos on custom exhaust manifolds. A powerglide transmission and large 17in street radial tyres put the power to the ground really well. Similar times were run on the day, however the end track speed marker was playing up.

With race weight well over 1800kg, and the engine making over 700 wheel horsepower, the long term goal with the car is to run an 8-second pass.
