The pick of the bunch when purchasing an older Subaru, the 2001 WRX Sti featured factory forged pistons, variable valve timing and a much stronger 6-spd gearbox. With around 260hp on tap they were a solid performer out of the box.
Con’s STi improved on this by fitting a larger top mount intercooler, 3in exhaust and an APS turbo resulting in a quick 12.30 at 112mph quarter mile time on pump unleaded. More recently Con and the team at HCW Automotive have made the switch to an E85 flex fuel system, and a larger Blouch turbo resulting in around 360hp to the wheels.
