We first spotted Matt Longhurst’s Nissan R34 GT-R at last year’s World Time Attack Challenge at Sydney Motorsport Park. The car was still in an initial shakedown development cycle.
Fast forward six months to the Vic Time Attack event at the picturesque Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and the V-Spec Nissan has undergone some aero changes resulting in less drag. Power comes from a Develo Pro Race Engines Tomei RB28 twin turbo Nissan six with power driven through an Albins sequential gearbox. The GT-R ran flawlessly all day and posted the quickest time of the event.
