With the Just Car Insurance Sydney Jamboree coming up later this month, a few Victorian entrants were out testing at the Friday night Off-street Calder Park drags. Peter Mora’s heavily modified Toyota Scion is one of the quicker front-wheel-drive’s in the country. The Scion is powered by a dry sump 2.6ltr 2AZFE four cylinder, on methanol fuel. A custom EMCO gearbox puts down around 400hp to the tyres. Peter’s best time to date is a 9.41 at 144 miles per hour.
Promaz Automotive were also out testing for Jamboree with Ross’s wild RX3 street car and Simon’s recently completed RX-8
Piloting the Independent Motorsports daily driven Ford Territory turbo, Stathi improved to a 10.1 second pass and looks set to run into the 9-second zone given more track testing.
Chris’s CK Automotive Nissan RB30 VN Commodore runs consistent eights on 275 radials.
Josh’s wild SR20 180SX made its first full passes and ran mid eights. We can see there is a lot left in this setup.
