VicDrift 2016 Practice Day

In Uncategorized by fullboost

We dropped by Vicdrift’s first practice day for 2016. Drivers are assigned into three classes ranging from beginner to experience.

From Dewars performance, Aaron’s newly setup S14 Silvia has a huge 750hp LS1 under the bonnet. Now stroked to 427 cubes and controlled by a Wolf ECU, Aaron has power available everywhere in the rev range thanks to a controlled nitrous system. Shockworks coil overs and Wisefab suspension arms given Aaron increased steering lock. This was a shake down test for Aaron.

We first met Jake at Performance Car Mania where he was having fun on the burnout pad. Setup for drifting, the S13 Silvia has a stock LS1 V8 with a Garrett GT42 running 10psi. Tuned by Loui’s performance the LS makes 500hp to the tyres.

Matt’s VK is another drifter who’s gone the LS1 route. This setup is quite different in that it’s using LPG vapour injection, fed by two propane forklift bottles. Boost comes from a Garrett GT42.
