LSX 454 pump fuel Monaro [ CID heads ]

Tim's Holden Monaro CV8 [ Pontiac GTO ] is one quick street car. Power comes from a naturally aspirated LSX 454ci V8 engine that Tim has built himself at home. The engine features CNC ported CID cylinder heads and a Higgins spec solid roller camshaft all running on regular pump unleaded petrol. Best time to date so far is a 10.2 @ 140mph and the guys are hoping to run into the 9-second zone soon however the car is no light weight!

Wayne's A1R4C1 Holden GTS Monaro has undergone a host of new changes recently. The car was out for a few test passes at Heathcote. Power comes from a 427ci LSX V8 forged engine boosted by a large Garrett turbocharger, Haltech EFI on E85 pump fuel, driven through a Preston Automatics TH400 transmission, LMS rear end through Radial Pro tyres. Anthony's Ford Falcon XD Wagon is a true budget street sleeper. The factory Ford 4.9L V8 engine is now gone in favour of the highly reliable GM 5.7L LS1 engine. A small camshaft upgrade and GM 4-spd transmission are among modifications. Anthony tells us including the car it only owes him around ten grand so bang for buck wise that's not to bad for an everyday 11-second car driven to the track and back.

Turbo BARRA Ford Cortina sleeper

A relatively simple yet highly effective engine conversion is updating the factory crossflow Ford six powered Cortina to the newer DOHC Barra engine as found factory fitted in the XR6 turbo. Antony's Mark V / TF example is very neat and shows a real stock presence. While internally stock, the turbocharged six cylinder has some choice bolt ons that have enabled the street car sleeper to dip into the nine second bracket. Tuned by: Dyno-Mite Performance.
