Default Another 1JZ Powered Cressida

Hi all, im new here, im Jarron and im 14. My Dad, brother and i are building up a 1JZ in a Cressida. PB at the moment is a 12.454 @ 107 1.725 60'. It is the fastest Standard Turbo 1JZ Powered Cressida. Thats not to say we wont be going single turbo, we most definatly will. We also won SRWD at the november drag warz this year. The car is not heavily modified at all (yet).

Mods-

Bosch coilpacks and leads
mildly ported head (we didnt really have this planned, but we blew the hg and figured we might as well)
twin 2.5" dumps to cat, then 3.5" system all the way to the back.
16psi
dry-ice intercooler + air-air intercooler
Microtech LT12s (hardly tuned at all)
Hoosier 235/50/16 D.O.T Drag radials
Walbro 255l/hr intank fuel pump.
Martini race fuel
Shit diff

Has run 12.83 in full street trim. Over christmas we will be upgrading the gearbox (+ratchet), new diff and a set of M/T Drag radials. Aiming for mid-high 11's with this next upgrade.

Here are a few pics. And remember, drag radials are not meant to fold.

We went out to WSID last night to test out nitrous, and we pb'd with an 11.355 @ 117.37 Mph 1.605 60'.

This is still all on stock turbos, tho they were running at 22psi.

This makes it the fastest standard turbo 1jz powered vehicle in the world.. again.

very happy, and hopefully with a few more mods, we might see a 10 out of it.

well chris davey is the man to talk to when it comes to 1j'z. He runs the fastest 1jz in oz list and is on nearly evry forum u can think of that has anything to do with them. and off the internet im sure it keeps going.

last wednesday it ran a 11.081 @ 114 and also ran 120mph later on.

in the mean time, we blew a hole in the block on the dyno after it made 266 kw.

another 1j is already on its way.

i agree with this to a point, but other than the japs not many other countries are playing with them. theres only so many countries that have access to these engines and drag strips. the fastest one in japan after i hunted around for info for years was a 12.4 the fastest single turbo was 11.2 both of these cars were on radials.

a few guys in the us are starting to play with them now and puerti rico there are a few guys playing with them.

there is a guy int he usa that went high 11's in a nissan 240 with stock turbos and he is the fastest there.
