Race for Nissan GTR Order Book
Nissan’s jaw-dropping GT-R – the anyone, anywhere, anytime supercar – has sold up a storm in its first few weeks’ pre-sale in Australia.
Since order taking began on October 9, more than 100 GT-R have been pre-sold as customers rush to secure their part of Australia’s performance car legacy.
The Nissan GT-R, which is eclipsing many previous supercar benchmarks around the world – and consistently wins comparisons with the world’s allegedly finest – and hitherto fastest – production coupes, has struck a chord with Australian automotive enthusiasts.
Priced from $148,800, the Nissan GT-R is poised to become an instant classic. It will be sold and serviced at 11 exclusive Nissan High Performance Centres in each capital city when it goes on sale locally next April.
Nissan Australia, Managing Director, Dan Thompson said the Performance Centres experienced a surge of customer interest following disclosure of specifications and pricing.
“The early customer reaction is fabulous and we have secured enough production to ensure that no-one who wants an R35 GT-R will be disappointed.”
“More than 5,500 have already been sold in Japan alone since it went on sale there late last year. And remember, Nissan only builds 1,000 GT-R’s per month at the Tochigi factory in Japan.

Nissan GT-R is expanding its already impressive repertoire by not only upping performance and spec for the upcoming GT-R V-Spec, but they have an even more potent ace up their sleeves. Best Car magazine say their "inside info" points them towards the direction of a very limited edition Le Mans Edition. Nissan is making a competition car, from which a street-legal version shall spawn.
Already an LM edition Skyline GT-R R33 was built in the 1990s, and was painted only Competition Blue. It was in commemoration to the car that took part at Le Mans 24 Hours. Beauty it was that, so we anticipate something of a sweet deal on this GT-R as well.
Suspected force will come from the car's tried and tested 3.8-litre V6 which will delve a bit deeper past the standard 480hp (353kW) into something said to be a scathing 612hp (450kW). Additionally the usual upgrades will apply: sharper, bigger brakes, new body kit, suspension and aerodynamic changes. The GT-R has already proven its pedigree among the finest on the planet, so we can only imagine what an LM Edition will come to. I wonder if it has been benchmarked against the 911 GT2? Or was that the V-Spec?

Hennessey Introduces 600hp Godzilla Package for Nissan GT-R
Hennessey Introduces 600hp Godzilla Package for Nissan GT-R
Hennessey Performance Engineering has just made us even bigger fans of the Nissan GT-R. The Texas-based tuner released a 600 hp (441 kW) upgrade to the car just in time for the holidays.
Called the Godzilla 600, the tuning package also provides up to 570 ft-lb (773 Nm) of torque.
This is not the first GT-R specific upgrade from the company. They have a tweek to the on-board computer software that adds 65 hp (48 kW) and 75 lb-ft (102 Nm) of torque after only 10 minutes.
The Godzilla 600 is not as simple. This package includes an upgrade to the air induction system, electronic boost control, an improved wastegate actuator, and front-mount intercooler system. Also included are turbo down pipes, mid-pipe exhaust, and rear section exhaust all in stainless steel.
Hennessey will install the package for $14,500, or ship the items to you for $11,500.
We wonder how soon you will notice the difference as you try to outrun Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol as you race down I-10 away from HPE headquarters.

Taking Orders Now: GTR Spec-V
There have been a lot of rumors going around over the past month as to when the new GTR Spec-V will go on sale and as to what will differ from the standard run of the mill GTR that we’ve been seeing recently. Well slowly but surely news has been leaking from Nissan and as of today, December 19 Japan time, pre-orders for the new Spec-V will be taken at a handful of ‘select’ Nissan dealers nationwide.
The car, rumored to be priced around the 15million yen mark, will go on sale January 8th next year at seven dealers around Japan.
Spec wise, Nissan has been tight lipped on what will go and what will stay, but the gist of it goes something like this. The hand built engine will stay at its current power level, but an ‘over boost’ function will be added, allowing for a slight increase in power whilst depressed. In the brakes and body department, the rear seats will be the first to go and some new carbon fiber trim will be added up front shedding a few kilos from the inside.
The chassis has also been rumored to have received a slight overhaul and carbon metallic brakes will take care of all the GTRs braking needs. Upgraded Bilstein Damptronic suspension has been given the job of lowering the body between 10 to 15mm on all four corners and will be coupled with super light Rays 1 piece wheels and sticky Dunlop tires. This is definitely one car we’ll be keeping a close eye on here, so stay tuned guys and girls!

2009 Nissan R35 GT-R SpecV Video
"This official Nissan footage shows the R35 GT-R SpecV rocketing around Germany’s Nurburgring at astonishing speed, with neat four-wheel drifts, lightning-quick changes of direction and glowing brake rotors aplenty. If you can understand Japanese you might be able to glean even more from this brief vid, but for the rest of us this is simply our best look yet at just how quick the SpecV is. Now, where are those laptimes?"

Hotter Vspec on the way?...lets hope!!!
After the InsideLine team spent some time driving the SpecV in Japan, their initial delight was turned into feverish excitement. This was caused by SpecV chief engineer Mr Kazutoshi Mizuno casually telling the team that "the SpecV, in contrast to what you might be thinking, is not the high-performance version of the GT-R."

Nissan GT-R Snares New Nurburgring Record
The all-conquering Nissan GT-R supercar has set another lap record at the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany.
A Japanese specification GT-R, running on Dunlop tyres with RAYS forged alloy wheels (V-spec equipment) recorded a blistering 7min 27.56 secs yesterday.
Driven by Nissan’s Chief test driver Toshio Suzuki (who recently demonstrated the GT-R to the Australian media in Sydney at Eastern Creek Raceway) piloted the performance coupe.
Although dry, the track surface grip was impaired by dust and sand. Under the direction of Nissan GT-R Chief Vehicle Engineer, Kazutoshi Mizuno, and depending on conditions, the Nissan test team will attempt another record at the ‘Ring tomorrow.
