    Default cammed vt ss 5.0

    hey,
we have a 98 vt ss 5.0 with all the usual mods(lowered, full exhaust, shocks etc) and a stage 3 cam and port and polished heads all done by wollongong auto services but it needs more power not sure bout the power now but i fink its about 230rwkw. for more power what do yous think is better... forged pistons or supercharger and how much power gains will it get from each one??
    thnx

    ~Exhaust System 2 1/2" $750
    ~Exhaust System 3" $950

Then You Can Then Work Your way Up To Say 355-365RwKw
    ~LSI Edit $990
    ~Fuel Pump $450
    ~Cold Air Induction $550
    ~Heads $2200
    ~Extractors $950

The above would be helpful if it were an LS1

It would take more than a cam and head port to get a holden V8 to 230rwkw, So if it does have 230rwkw, it's either got a whole lot more done to it than a cam and tickled heads, or it is in fact an LS1 and the OP is confused.
Forged pistons won't make you any HP at all, they will simply make your roataing assembly stronger and less prone to failure when you do in fact make more power. My advice is to research how an engine works, you will start to understand that HP comes from effeciencies, how much air you can get into the engine, not how much money you spent on things that sound great on a spec sheet, forged pistons, billet crankshaft, high volume oil pump all possibly necesary for a big Hp engine, but none of which actually make you more power. If this is not your game, just take it back to XZY 'performace' shop and let them sort (rape) you out.
