Default Street / Drag Weld Alumastars?

    Lads,

Im after some feedback from those who HAVE weld alumastars.

I love the look of them but a couple of people have mentioned to me about thier strength, especially for street use. One shop told me that there would be no warranty on street applications and they were a drag wheel only.

Does anyone use them on the street? How long have you had them? Any problems?

Really need some feedback on these if anyone can supply some. Otherwise I'll remain scared off without upgrading wheels.

Its only a weekender and I am very careful (eg: no big bumps / potholes etc)

    Brett

    Thanks Jamie.

I had draglites for years too, never had a drama.

$960ea... ouch. Are they the 5 spoke type?

Funnily enough I had a mate crack two convo pro's in HEAPS of places with just daily driving... so its hard to take anyones word.

    Anyone else got them?

bullarabs, whats between the wheel studs?

I was talking about the 1st versions not the second ones that you have there.

I think theyre way over my price range after calling around today too. Might stick with the convos that everyone has.

It's funny how they are not strong enough for street use but are strong enough to withstand possible 5ft wheel stands which can happen while drag racing

You won't ahve a problem with them - had them on my heavy camaro for years

The only reason they state not for street use is because many people in past used them for high speed cornering which on a 3 1/2" wide rim is asking for trouble.

Personally if you are going for aluma stars go the magnum pros!

Well alumastars are out, they cost double any other wheel.

The magnum pro's - are they the ones with the 5 circles around the rim?

I cant seem to find a pro street looking wheel to suit the coupe, well nothing around what Im looking to spend.

    Any other suggestions?
