View Full Version : ET Street Tyres??
What are the do's and dont's with these tyres?
Whata pressure to use with racing?
And how hot (Big burnout??) do ya need to get them to work well?
Do they last long?
ET Street or ET Street Radial?
Drag Radials/Street radials
small burnout and we run about 14 psi.hope ive been of some help.
Yeah short strong burnout and into stage quickly. I run 10psi on a 275x60x15 on a 10" rim. Have found track prep needs to be very good to get them to work with my car.

I ran 17-18psi in mine and hooked up easy on a small tyre. Didn't bother dropping it any lower because it was hooking up hard.
Thanks for that guys, what about on the street do they wear out quickly? Can they be used on the dyno or will it rip them apart?
The dyno will melt them and they will get too hot and spin on the rollers. I have seen this many times.

I tested on them last Calder Street meeting and in 37* weather they were good enough to go 8.22 / 179 mph.... on the first try....
If they are good enough for our US cousins to go 6.9's and 216 mph on them in their Radial street cars weighing 3300lbs...., they should be ok for us down here....lol...
We tested a mates car on the dyno (SBC LH on the bottle) about a week ago on a twin roller dyno and was all good. It didnt rip them up at all and thats a 9.7 sec street car.....
But they do not last long on the street.....
Pete
Pistol, I was more talking about extended dyno tuning sessions but for a car that's having a quick hit on the rollers they wont be a problem.

Yeh, we were in the infield right next to you when you did that pass but they did not look like they hooked up for the first 60 foot, how did it feel was it a decent 60 foot compared to the slicks?

My car went 1.35 in the 60" with the radial Street ET's, and went 1.36 earlier with the 10.5" slick...., so they are at least as good. Im sure it can go much quicker in the 60" with them, in the right conditions. LEts see next week in Sydney????

I have them on a few cars, we run much higher pressures, around 18-20 psi. never run them under 15 as they are not designed to do that.
same sized burnout, smallish.
and you can do 1 hit on the dyno, but they will start to tear up, and won't transfer the power all the way through the tyre.
On the street won't have much life.but should give 5000km of general driving.they are designed to get hot and grippy so general driving will do that.

OK, some feedback on them radials....
Dont try them in heat above 38*c, and track temp of 57*c, as they wont hook....
I tired them at Sydney @ the summernationals and just couldnt bite whatsoever on the start line ....
But, dont get me wrong im not knocking them, they just need a good track and not one that will burn the rubber off,,,,, lol.... I will try them again in the right conditions.........
The worst track conditions at Calder (2 friday nights ago in similar heat) were even better and the same tires had bite!!!! Goes to prove, Calder isnt that bad at all.....
