splitting heads

my friend has a vl... he bought it with a split head so he bought a new
head it also split... car is basicly a stock ex pursuit car with adjustable boost.
it is running about 16psi..
also is there any differance between a normal vl and the pursuit ones..

should we try another head or does it have major dramas...

they split along the lifter bores in the cam valley, who knows, the second head you got may have already been split before you put it on!!

just get another head, get it machined and crack tested ok.

put it all together then bleed the cooling system properly for god sakes! go get a gregories manual to make sure you do it right otherwise you will blow a head gasket and run the possibility of cracking the head again.
