Hi people we are back from the Holden nationals... Wooow the amount of commodores that were sanctioned at the event!
Was good to see alot of support in the cruise for charity with 500+ cars attending the event, Cars where queued up, all the way back up to the highway.

What the hell happened out there?

Theres about 11 million people complaining about it on the commodore forums, everything from the length of the grass in the carpark, to getting charged for entry, to the bloody hot dog quality lol.

What was the track like?

Many entrants for the HDN?

Nice pics John.

I don't think anyone is going to say they had a 'great' weekend. As you would know, friday night was cancelled, along with sunday, no refunds or rain passes offered. Track was reasonable on the launchpad, but mine kept unloading the tyres as it put the front wheel down, i thought it was my tyre/setup but i wasnt the only one skating on this part of the track. After the C4C people left it seemed so did 50% of the entrants. Qualifying was a waste of time, perhaps 40-50 cars left total, one pass and the day's over for you, whether qualified for your bracket or not.

I must say i'm keen to see the video to see if it was my car and a few others or if it was the track.

What was the reasons for the cancellation??? Rain???
Weather seem ok down in Melbourne.

Yup we were running a 50hp shot. Going back next week to try for the 10.

I cannot believe the people not wanting to pay $20 to get in!
They were climbing the fence into the pit lanes.
SC attracts some disgraceful people!
Ive never seen so many VN 5 litres!

Did anyone else see the line of cars on the road out side the end of the track? The were sitting in deck chairs along the road as you turned of the track at the end of the strip. How tight!!

I heard people complaing how FAR it was from Melbourne, you can't be serious!, I guess they aren't used to leaving their own suburb...

HSVLOL
07-10-09, 01:34 PM
Its always the same group. On all the forums they want the cruise to finish in there suburb at a servo near there house. Tight asses. If they dont want to pay to come in they shouldnt come. I still dont understand the theory behind cut springs and 20inch rims on a VR exec.....

If you rocked up and wanted to see the HDN and were a passenger in a commodore cruise car, with no actual involvement other than sponging off a mate with a nice ride, that entitled you to free entry.

Apparently...

(what are the odds of rain at heathcote, and sunny in melbourne? its usually the other way 'round)

I had a chat with the fella who built/owns it on friday night, He is the bloke making the custom inlet manifolds for them, stock bottom end, big sticks, manifold and springs, reckons he turns it to 9200rpm
also said it makes 420hp and that it went 120mph in QLD before they came down, but was only running 114 at heathcote with 11.6's. The car it's in looks like it's setup for 8 second passes.

At the meet point at Bundoora for the cruise for charity when you paid $35 they told us anyone in your car had free entry to Heathcote.

As most commodores are lowered driving and parking in high grass was a fire waiting to happen with hot exhausts.

Thats not any fault of heathcote park and no reason for people to start climbing the fence.

Poor organisation on Street Commodores part.

Was this actually organised with HPR, or just something SC made up?

Why would it be free for the hangers on, and cost HDN spectators to get in?

People may as well just stood out the front, hopped in a car, and got "free entry"

As most commodores are lowered driving and parking in high grass was a fire waiting to happen with hot exhausts.

Sounds like idiocy on the magazines behalf to end a cruise in a paddock, rather than the "fault" of HPR.

Anyone who has been to heathcote knows the place, and SC were there last year for the HDN, so they damn well knew too.

sounds like a monstrous ballsup by the magazine lol, whats the bet HDN wont be at heathcote next year.

When my mate said it was car load for free i called bullshit but at meet point the charity/SC people taking the money told us the same, fuck knows.
Driver paid $35 for a Tshirt and entry which was worth $20.
Not sure whos fault it was but you can never trust that raceway when talking about money though.
