When my XE is finished, I'll be running turbo with no cats, no emissions gear and no petrol tank, and it will be 100% legal. How well do TT 304s run on LPG?

That is becasue your XE is pre 1986.
You will find that post 1986 vehicles even running striaght LPG are not 100% legal when modified unless you pay for an emissions test, although the EPA aren't as strict as they are with gasoline modified cars.

yes, if its post 1986 you still need to retain a cat.
the charcoal canister can be discarded as the fuel tank is thrown away also, but cat converter must remain!!

Vipac emission scientists in Altona are your friend.
$1500 for ADR Test + $500 if doing evaporative test for altering/removing charcoal canister etc.
lambda 1 it up and might need to install a pre cat as close to turbo as possible :(

Nah, my car never had a cat standard from the factory. Dont need one. I wanst sure on post 1986 cars so that clears it up.
So if you pass the adr test will epa be happy with your mods??
Eyup...
Basically after you do the emissions test, you take the car down to the EPA and they photo copy the certificate you got for the emissions test, and take photo's of the engine bay...
After that you shouldn't get an EPA again, and if for some reason a cop just wants to give you one no matter what, at least you don't have to change anything on the car before you take it to the EPA.
Thank you
