What Camera's are recommended for the average in car cam videos mounted to cage ??

Been to the shops this weekend starting to do the homework and got given a few numbers:

I was originally looking at this little fella as I barely think I will use the camera, but after reading a few quick reviews it may be too simple:

JVC Everio GZ-MG330 30gig hdd $500 (Entry Level)

Do I need to look at the HD models instead, or any suggestions?
JVC Everio GZ-HD10 40gig HDD HD $1000
Sony SR65 HD 40gig HDD $840
Canon FS11 $700
Samsung VP HMX20 $800

Agree the dogcams are the ducks nuts.
If $$'s are low then you can pickup miniDV tape cameras cheap second hand on Ebay as people are upgrading to Hidef and selling them cheap.
Or maybe a Sandisk VMate (~$100) and one of these these (http://www.allthings.com.au/Catalogue/Mini/bullet%20c22hrs%20SONY%20CCD%20Chipset%20high%20re solution%20cctv%20colour%20camera.html). (sorry old link, but others on that site)
Or ChaseCam .... mmmm nice (http://chasecam.com/cameras/CAM-520)
