OK, what was the real reason behind the swap?
I also think the 2jz is a fantastic motor. Look at the Gas Celica. 2000+hp crazy.
Was curious, as in the US, RB parts r hard to get. Was wondering was it the same?

I've had both engines apart.

2jz is definately better than an RB26 or RB30 with a 26head.

The casting and metalurgy of the Toyota 1J and 2J engines are far more superior than the RBs. This is why the factory internals of an 1/2J hold up better than an RB.

Take it from an avvid Nissan fan who has built and run many RB engines as well as 1/2JZ - Toyota have their engine engineering at a higher level compared to Nissan.

Nothing beats the sound of a tuned RB26 however :)
