41st Annual Castrol Edge 2008 Winternationals, June 5-6-7-8 Willowbank Raceway, Queensland

Jim Read Racing looks forward to the 41st annual Castrol Edge 2008 Winternationals to be hel d over the weekend of June 5-6-7-8 at Willowbank Raceway, Queensland.
After being left with the massive task of having to prepare a brand new top fuel dragster chassis for Martin Stamatis for the next top fuel round on the JRR race calendar, the 2008 Winternationals is now only just around the corner.

With Top Fuel sure to provide the Queensland nitro fans with what is sure to be yet another bumper record field of consistent top fuel dragsters running throughout the June 5-6-7-8 weekend at Willowbank Raceway, the JRR team are pumped having already turned around Phil''s dragster ready to go for the event, and are just now putting the final touches on getting Martin's new dragster finished off for the meeting.

Fresh from some fantastic elapsed times and speeds at the recent Snap On Nitro Champs, Phil having run a neck snapping 4.582 @ a huge 323.50 mph (520.62 kmh), and Martin and the JRR team all smiles after his new personal best time of 4.576 @ 324.12 mph (521.62 kmh), the JRR Team are happy to have already wrapped up the Australian title for Phil, and Martin also goes to Queensland now in second place, so it is sure to be yet another a glove's off affair at the next exciting event!

Behind the scenes, hundreds of pistons and conrods need to be meticulously measured, checked and catalogued before final assembly. One of the many time consuming jobs when you are generating about 1000 horsepower from each piston!
