Calder re-opening??

Any word on Calder re-opening on the 2nd.

And what the track work improvements where?

i have been told that it's opening on the 9th of may... they have re-surfaced the first 60ft or somthing like that... calder park is now flying in a guy from adelaide to do the track prep... the trak prep is now showning in the times so get support behind calder park and go out and race

The next off-street drag meeting at Calder Park is this coming Friday May 2nd.

Track improvements are slated to start in July taking some two months to complete. Upgrades will include moving the concrete walls, startline moved down the track (stand alone drag strip) and a new timing system.

The updates were supposed to have been done this past month, partly because when they moved some walls for Crusty Demons, some bright spark forgot there was timing control wires in the walls and ripped them out..... I was told that all the updates were being done then. But it's all been said before and nothing's happened, that's why Calder's the way it is, and hardly anyone supports it anymore....

Any one who supports Calder is probably not old enough to remember what it was like in its heyday. Bob Jane does not like Drag Racers, he just wants their money to spend it on circut racing.

I would agree, i have been going to Calder for a long time and just cant justify paying to get me, the missus and the kids in to see 30 street cars and 3 comp cars race
