Rigoli's done it ages ago. Its on a Serious Performance Video if i remember correctly. Dark Green WRX Sedan it was. They where doing doughnuts in it a the shoot. Was done by removing a Fuse. Not postive if thats all you had to do. But thats how they changed it from 4WD to RWD.

Riglolis current drag WRX is RWD. But then again it's not really a WRX anymore is it, what with the 3.3L SVX engine and whatnot. I think MRT did a RWD conversion for a JVC-sponsored WRX to enter into DA (Drift Australia) events last year. Forget how they did exactly though.

its a clutch pack driven automatic in the 2 door 4 cylinder (not the rwd one) and that can be changed to rwd or 4wd at push of a button. Which is the same as the GTR's setup basically.
Otherwise you have the DCCD electronic driver controlled center differential which will give you a 35/65, 50/50, 65/35 option with the dial.

Also you could purchase the PPG center rwd diff for about $650 for full time rwd and just spend an hour to put the original diff back in when you get over it.
Basically thats all the options you have.
Also once rwd you have a fairly good chance at snapping the driveline due to the tramping that will be introduced, whiteline have a kit to fix this issue which includes a anti-lift kit.
MRT Rally have a centre diff that makes your wrx RWD direct bolt on!
$650 from memory!

but why go rwd ?
if you pull the center diff out open it and lock the splined sleve to the case it will lock the center diff and not transfer drive to the front but once you do this the center diff is a throw away item and they rnt cheap, one of the guys at my work did this n had it at calder on the gtrydaz track day not long ago will try get videos of it
