Ive noticed of late that just about everyone you speak to holds a record? Are there really that many records? Who makes em up?? I was walking through the pits last weekend at the LS1 Nats and everyone I spoke to had some kind of Record. Are they actual records??

eg: "fastest 100% street trim on 20s"???????
"fastest full trim on 8 inch slick with manual box"??

I guess I have the fastest 100% totaly stock EB ford with a Kenwood cd player. hehe!:D

i know some of these so called records are bullsh!t
i ran a 10 sec pass and farted at half track does that get me something lmfao

Records are for people that race and push the boundries with a given product. So call it what you will but its for the better of the sport. Not to mention the further development and research of products.

Without records people don't have much reason to push the boundries...

Think about dyno comps? would people build cars to make big horsepower numbers without dyno comps or records??

Same applies for drag racing without records the sport would diminish!!

If you haven't got a record of some kind then maybe your spending too much time in front of computer and not chasing down someone else's record to make your own!

We do have a record of our own.. Australia's fastest factory Supercharged V6. The car is in the vid on BIGPSIs site. Im not picking on you mate, I am just saying in general. Its amazing that everyone has a record. I mean "fastest on 20s"??? where do people draw the line?

Hey HSV LOL I do thoroughly agree with you where do you draw the line, it is great to have some record but not silly ones like fastest on 20s, so to speak,there are many quick cars,so just appreciate what they are and that is it,you do have a GENUINE POINT about this matter it gets quite tedious sometimes hearing about a record eg quickest red car,or quickest ls1 with no tune up.

i never said u were...but im all for records, if it makes someone else do the same to obtain ur record then i think its a legit one, if its a bullshit record no-one gives a toss and it never gets a mention and nor do others attempt to beat it....maybe check out Gunniess world records now thats a laugh!

I have the fastest inline six cylinder Datsun 120y sedan with a vinyl roof and auto box wearing dunlop volleys. Everyone needs a target to chase. :)

i have a inline six, and there is a 120 out the back with a vinyl roof (but manaul box)... maybe i can biuld it up and we can have drag wars... interested????

dunno about the dunlop volley tho...

More importantly, what it is to stop people using methane delay boxes and releasing the fart at the ideal time?

If someone wants to claim a record good on them. It doesn't hurt anyone.

I think some of the records are a bit ridiculous. Fastest yellow VL turbo with highflow T3, on radials, only on 12psi etc...

Good on you for having a go but its getting a bit technical.
