well i need help in deciding wether to put an sr20 or an rb26 on a 280z that i want to buy. there is no need to explain why these engines are so good. all i want is advice and ill take suggestions but please keep it within the nissan family. and i would also like to know how hard or how easy these swaps could be on this car. im only familiar with these swaps in a 240sx and im only 17 so understand that my knolege is limited but im willing to learn.

thanks, my friend actually convinced me to go rb26 but i still dont even have the car :( and its going to be my 1st car so i want to keep it for a while. and im also thinking of an old supra and droping a 2jz in it with the same 5 speed because it would be cheaper. but it all depends on how much money i am able to save up this summer.

I hate to rain on your parade, but I've heard so many stories of high school kids planning on doing this and that with cars etc... and they never end up doing it.
When i was 17, i thought i knew a lot about a car. 6 years later I'm still learning a new thing every single day.
Unless you pay someone all to do it, or you have an immense amount of knowledge of how to do a engine swap at age 17, just buy a car that has some semi performance to it, and work on that. After a couple of years you get familiar with them and then you can now apply that new knowledge when you do decide to get a RB26DETT in a 280z
I'm saying all this in a nice way so don't take it personally.
Also, don't forget you will have to get it engineered, and you won't be able to drive it till you are 22 with these new p plater laws

OR are you from the states? In that case i dont think George Dubya cares about engine swap laws as most of you can get you full licence at 16? That is a scary thought! I'dbe the first one opposing it...
