Hi guys, here is a brief rundown on our range of coilover suspension.

HSD Suspension
HSD coilovers, manufactured in Korea, offer outstanding performance at extremely competitive prices. With vast experience producing coilovers for Japanese OEM clients, HSD’s own brand offers the same quality of design and components as the most expensive brands on the market. This is backed up by a 12-month warranty against any manufacturing defect.

The performance of HSD coilovers has already been proven in Australia, helping Darren Appleton win the 2005 Drift Australia series. For 2007, the HSD range has expanded to include the new HS ‘street’ series and full competition-spec HT series.

HS Series $1349 - $1399

For the driver who only occasionally ventures to the circuit, our HS series coilovers offer a comfortable, quiet ride while still delivering improved handling and easy height adjustment. The revised HS series features only slightly smaller dampers (38mm piston) than the HR and HT, with lighter damping rates and lighter springs better suited to daily driving. Damping adjustments are made using a single 15-step dial. Most models have been redesigned to offer longer travel, with helper springs used where necessary. To reduce noise the top mounts feature a rubber bush rather than a pillow-ball. Strut suspension models still offer camber adjustment via elongated holes in the base bracket.

HR Series $1599 - $1649

Our very popular HR series is perfect for race and drift use, offering great control and adjustability at an affordable price. Featuring a larger daimater damper (44mm piston) with stiffer valving and 15-step damper adjustment, they also have stiffer spring rates than the HS series. These can still be used for regular driving, but the stiff, short-stroke design is biased more toward the circuit. All HR models feature pillow-ball top mounts front and rear, with camber adjustment on strut suspension models. The dampers are also inverted on strut models for greater strength.

HT Series $2399 - $2449

New for 2007 -2008, the HT series is designed specifically for race use. Featuring a remote reservoir for all four dampers, control is improved even under sustained, high-load use. Effectively doubling the volume of oil in each damper, the remote reservoir system also improves cooling and allows the HT dampers to have separate bump and rebound adjustment. There are four ‘coarse’ steps of bump adjustment, with 12 steps of finer adjustment effectively offering 48 steps of bump adjustment. Rebound adjustment also has 16 steps to choose from, with up to 5000N of damping force available.

To minimise unsprung weight, the HT series also offers a full aluminium damper casing and aluminium lower bracket. Naturally all HT models feature pillow-ball top mounts front and rear, with camber adjustment on strut suspension models. Coilovers offering this level of sophistication normally retail for more than double the recommended retail of our HT type.

Holden Coilovers
Otomoto has now expanded the range of HSD products to include popular Holden models from VT to VE. This includes overseas equivalents such as the Vauxhall VXR8 or Pontiac GTO and G8. Developed in Australia with the help of Willall Racing, the new HR series for Holden offers a dramatic improvement in handling. Like our other HR-series coilovers, the Holden HR coilovers feature large-diameter dampers with 44mm pistons. A single damper adjuster offers 15-step variation of damping force, while height can be adjusted over a wide range. The top mount design for the Holden precludes camber adjustment at the top, but the lower brackets offer some camber adjustment via elongated mounting holes. Standard spring rates are 14kg/mm front and 10kg/mm rear.

VT to VZ (1997-2006) $1799

FRONT: Each front unit features adjustable spring seat height to keep the front spring captive at all times. The swaybar link height is also adjustable and we supply the coilovers with both the early (horizontal) mounting and VZ series II (vertical) mounting. Vehicle height is adjusted by the lower bracket, while the green knob at the bttom of the strut allows easy adjustment of the damping force by hand.

REAR: The trailing arm-style IRS in this range of Holdens requires the use of a separate rear spring, but height adjustment is still available thanks to an adjustable spring seat. The overall length of the damper can also be adjusted via the lower bracket, while the damping adjuster is located at the top.

VE (Aug 2006-present) $1799

FRONT: Each front unit features adjustable spring seat height to keep the front spring captive at all times. The swaybar link height is also adjustable with the spanners provided in the kit. Vehicle height is adjusted by the lower bracket, while the green knob at the bttom of the strut allows easy adjustment of the damping force by hand.

REAR: The multi-link rear suspension design of the new VE series allows the use of a one-piece coilover arrangement, so height adjustment can be achieved simply by rotating the bottom bracket. The spring seat is also adjustable to ensure the spring stays captive, while the damping adjuster is located at the top.
