Getting closer to being built. Its going through the Land Management Group at the moment. They are apparently down to 2 sites out of the 5, so it is getting closer.

Has anyone heard that AIR has been sold by Bob Jane back to Keith Williams? Keith is the man who originally built the track in 1972 and sold it to Bob in 1982. Apparently he has bought it back off Bob very recently and is scheduling street meets in October. Yes, I have heard it before aswell, but that was with the Jane corporation owning the track. I wondered if anyone else has heard about the sale to Keith?

I dont know if it has been painted over yet but someone on the lower half painted a big C U N T ! on it.

Its not Danny here mate I am the original SOLID lol. Yes I believe what I have heard is 100% correct. Judging by the fact that the signage out the front of AIR has disappeared I would say its a good sign that what I have heard is credible :)

This information was obtained from Auto Action magazine direct. Dont bother trying a net search as the magazine isnt online. Yes, it seems 100% true and I believe they are re surfacing the track very shortly and I have now heard August for street meets :)

yes i also heard that it was getting resurfaced, i was watching Inside Speed on Foxtell the otha week and the bloke was talking about the race n shit how it goes over Australia and that they hope AIR will be resurfaced before they get there..

and also people who have had 1 of the V8 driving experience had a letter sent post-poning the date to a later date. So SOMETHING is deffinately happening

It IS getting re-surfaced - a friends company has the contract to do the job. It's not a top dollar job though, BJ didn't want to spend that much. (surprise surprise)

On a dissapointing note though - the drag strip is not getting re-done, just the circuit parts.

I called Calder, the drag track has been resurfaced too and the plan is to eventually have drag meets there again. No dates yet of course.
