Can some1 in the know do something here in the technical section? I know diddlysquat about a/r's, suitability of models to engine capacity, etc., but really wanna know.
But please speak english because I'm as dumb as a box of rocks. lol...

Yeah, I downloaded the turbobygarrett 1 a while back, but I just don't get it. I know the easy stuff, but flat out don't understand the hard stuff(trim sizes, a/r's....:o
All I know is from advice like approx .63 impellor/1.16 exhaust trim for a street strip 5 litre. 3-3.5g's 'd be a nice point for full spool up.
I just have no idea what it all means exactly 'n I don't just want to take their word for it...

Hi NOGEN3,

Search the internet for info, there's huge amounts of it, you're not the first to ask how a turbo works.
trim sizes are the sizes of the impeller and compressor wheels inside turbo's / superchargers. A/R's are a different way of measuring it, gives you an idea on what size the thing is.
Im not sure if you're getting at something and not actually asking the right question? what is it exactly you'd like to know?
The garrett / honeywell site is very informative.
