I dusted the evo off on friday night and packed her up on the trailer.
It was the Powercruise street cat shoot out at willowbank this weekend.
This meet is always a great meet as its heads up pro tree and there is a radial tyre class to run in :D .
Its mainly V8's and there are always tuff cars running at this event.
My first qualifyer, I launched it hard off the line and snapped the drivers side rear shaft, only to have it spit 1/2 of it out on the track and want to follow me down the track. 20 minutes later(thanks to my wife helping me) I was out again :D
2nd pass I was a grand ma and ran a 10.5@ 147 with a 2.27 60"
3rd pass was a little better and ran a 9.95 @ 147 with a 1.91 60"
In the eleminations I was running in the 10's and in the semi final, I ended up running up against the top qualifyer which was a very tuff twin turbo V8 Capri running 9.40's @ 142 all day
My run ended up with a 9.74 @148.9, hitting the limiter(9800) before the finish line and a 1.71 60"
I ended up losing to the capri which ran a 9.48@142, but it was a close race 8)
All in all I was very happy with the day and was beaten by a faster car.
So im keen to get the evo in the low 9 sec range for next year.
