MoTeC’s much anticipated Central Logging System has been officially released, giving tech savvy race teams a smart new option for gathering and processing their valuable data. Consisting of an Advanced Central Logger (ACL) and multiple VIMs (Versatile Input Modules), it has been developed as the ultimate acquisition and communications solution for those who place high demands on their data system.
As its name suggests, the ACL is the centrepiece of this sophisticated andhighly configurable system, boasting a huge 1GB of logging memory and high speed Ethernet for fast data download. It provides all the advanced features of MoTeC’s ADL2 Dash Logger, including warning alarms, fuel prediction, engine logs, timers, tables, user conditions, telemetry and more.
Featuring dual CAN bus communications and multiple RS232 ports, the ACL collects sensor data from a number of external devices, including one or more VIMs, and logs up to 1000 channels at rates between 1Hz and 5000Hz. Data captured and downloaded from the Central Logger is analysed using MoTeC’s advanced i2 Pro data analysis software.*
An indispensable accessory to the ACL, the MoTeC VIM is a compact and versatile expander module that provides high resolution sensor inputs for precise measurement of virtually any vehicle parameter. Multiple VIMs may be connected to the Central Logger, allowing for more than 200 sensor inputs.
Each VIM has 24 analogue inputs of various types, including eight differential inputs suitable for strain gauges and thermocouples, and two digital inputs with programmable trigger levels, ideal for wheel speed measurement. The distributed nature of the VIM modules allows them to be located close to the connected sensors, minimizing complexity and weight.
MoTeC’s new Central Logging System is easily integrated with existing MoTeC equipment, including ECUs, displays and Dash Loggers, Lambda meters, CAN expanders, Shift Light Modules and timing devices.
The Central Logging System is available now from MoTeC’s worldwide dealer network. Visit www.motec.com.au (http://www.motec.com.au) for more details and a complete dealer listing.
