Hi guys.
I want to convert the Morris J type to automatic transmission, so considering a Toyota eng/trans combo. Due to the internal space limitations (narrow width, and want to keep the eng cowl as near orig as possible) I’m limited to an OHV engine with both manifolds on the (pass) LHS. At current research its come down to Toyota R series OHV or Holden starfire. The obvious choice being Toyota unless someone can think of anything else.
The question is, what is the availability of these engine/trans? I haven’t had much luck finding any yet. The hope is that people will have these left over from doing an engine upgrade.
Or the other thing is, what cars should I look for to get the OHV engine?
