Howdy everyone. New to the website and was just wondering if anyone has experienced or heard of clutch problems like me. I have a 2007 Subaru Liberty 2.5i. Problem is scorching sound when you let the clutch out under load. You get the high pitched scorthing sound when the clutch is let out quickly with reasonable revs.
Subaru are aware of the problem and it seems like a common one given the service guys response when I insisted he go for a spin with me. This fella went on about fixing it in 2 ways
1. As standard just Like from the factory with a dual mass flywheel or
2. Solid flywheel with the clutch plate spring loaded. This way using subaru genuine parts in apparently more responsive with a better feel BUT increased motor resonance at around 2000 revs.
This is all double dutch to me, but was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem or heard about it. Any advice on the best way to go would be appreciated. Thanks.
