Hey all,

not sure if I have a problem with my gearbox or clutch and wondering if someone may be able to help?

Have had the car for 2.5years and never touched the gearbox or clutch (stock). Since going to the 1/4 mile in August, it seems the clutch has started slipping on full power. It happened a couple of times at Heathcote drags and has since happened a couple of times when launching (i.e, drop clutch in 1st at 2,500rpm, throw it into 2nd and the tacho fly's straight up to redline and car goes no where.). Since then I have been gentle and not driven too hard, but my foot got the best of me last week and I put the boot into it and it didn't slip at all (didn't launch hard tho, just gunned it from 2nd gear). Since it first started slipping it has become more difficult to physically put it in 1st gear and sometimes 2nd and 3rd and I need to REALLY push the clutch pedal right to the floor to get it into gear.

Would this be my clutch dieing or the gearbox?

Any help appreciated!

Clutch mate for sure. Had the same trouble before with the clutch plate warping a bit and when you realease the pressure plate it still has a little bit of drive making it hard to select gears.
