hey ive recenetly bought an autometer tacho i own a vl commodore and im wondering hwo do you hook this thing up all the auto electricains in my area i got no clue why but are being assholes and telling me they dont do this stuff so im wondering hwo to hook it up in the instructions it tells me to use a fuse on the ignition wire say i dont use a fuse what can happen and what are the chances and has anyone else hooked up a monster 5 inch tacho to a vl before all coments are greatly appreciated thank you

Why dont you just follow the instructions instead of asking 'what if I dont'. If all else fails, read the instructions.

there 4 wires right? green black white and red
RED-12v battery/power
BLACK-earth
WHITE-light (bridge it on your parkers)
GREEN-coil
im not running any fuses, works fine...

ok i can get the lights to work whitch wire do i grab from the ignition of the VL to link it to the red wire of the tacho the one that needs 12 positive power from the ignition

use a test light and find it that way. stab the wire, turn ur reds on

it was the brown one on the ignition biggest bitch to cut aswell tacho works now :P hehe love my manual vl
