View Full Version : What times and rwkw are guy's with LS1 turbos running?
Hi peoples,
We have just completed a turbo LS1 and im curious to see what times we can expect. It made 377rwkw but is a little lean using supercharged V6 injectors so we have ordered some new injectors. It made the power running 7psi boost using a big single mongrel turbo we had lying around. Going to up the boost to 10psi once the new injectors are fitted. Any idea's? Its a manual and uses stock 3.46n LSD gears. Its a Ute too. Is this ok power for a LS1 turbo??

i reckon high 10 low 11. aren't the utes heavier than the sedans?
Im not sure, im going to take it to a weigh bridge and find out but. We would be happy with a mid 11. One way to find out I guess.

my mate has ls1 turbo has 412rwks, he runs 9.5@146mph.
WOW:eek: umm, we have 377rwkw now at 7psi so... at 10psi im guessing 390? 400? It might go faster than I thought.
That 9sec one is auto im guessing??

Tim Perry's G&D Performance SS Ute has gone 10.50/135.
408kW on 11psi, T400 tranny.
Engine is unopened at present (346ci).

see the thing about turboed ls1/2's they suffer from lag down low but when it kicks in they get moving, all im saying is good luck with them but im an N/A person and HIGGINS Ute kicks arse i mean to start off with a brand new ss ute (VY SS) he held the quickest 346c.i LS1 N/A Manual in Australia going a 10.5 at 134-6Mph and now he has the first 9 second N/A LS1 in Australia 9.32 @ 148mph with an Auto. any comments about HIGGINS Ute???
Sure his car is a beast! but is Higgins ute alloy block? 346cube? EPA compliant? apples and oranges. We are looking for a respectable time for a kit we are looking to sell. Not a one off all out race car. We will be happy with 11.0.

RWKW meens jack realy without set up your going to run a high 11 low 12.
Afew things like airbags in the springs ect ect should run a low 11sec pass

Theres two LS1 Turbos here in Adealide that i know well. both runnin 500+ RwKw, one twin turbo the other single.

370 kw on 7 psi my mate made the same with a sc sunning 14 :confused:

and c&v have gone a low 7 i think using a ls motor

Poly bags..if you have and IRS commodore your going to need them..
Still havn't had time to get to the track :( Re-tuned the car with new injectors/pumps and larger supply line with respectable AFRs and she now makes 355-365rwkw consistantly. Was a little lean before with 377. Still running around 7psi. Ordered a Norgren valve for her so will wind in a little more boost and see what happens. Will get to the track one day LOL! She needs some suspension first, Kings springs dont cut it.....:rolleyes:

I was 301RWKW 4000RPM converter 3'9 diff gears with 1.57 60foot 11,20@126mph..N/A cam only front runners Et streets.
Old Exec shocks in the front.By old I meen 200,000klms
Pedders rear shocks,king superlows and polly bags.
i have a GenTT kitted VU SS 6spd ute and making 340rwkw on a very safe tuned fully built forged motor on 12psi with the small KKR330s turbos and ive been told that should run anywhere from 120-125mph which is a low to mid 11sec pass..
Whether i can get it to hook up to get that ET is another story..
Just head out with MT Streets 235s or 255s and see what MPH u get then go from there with the rear suspension setup bud :D

You may have been told you have the power to run 125mph,well no shit a T/F car has the power to run 3sec passes but they dont.How many dyno queen cars back it up on the track...fark all
Its great that you have alot of power but with out getting it to hook up its not going to do you any good at the track.
P.S If you do use E.T's dont go for 15's use 255/65R16s they will hook up twice as well.

What's your problem??? I havnt said I was going to run crazy times. I know cars need to be setup. Ive been in the game for many years mate. Ill be happy to run somewhere in the 11s! Im not going to use ETs, im using Hoosier slicks.
PS. It made a very broard spread of torque with the peak being 10600N in 4th gear. I am not stupid! I dont tune a car to produce 500kw at 8000rpm with nothing below it! I tune for the broadest spread of torque possible. So take a break mate, have a kitkat and think before you post.
