Speedtech Motorsport have been busy building this awesome new Pro Import Subaru WRX.

Owner Matt Locke has had this project since it first appeared in the NZPC news section a couple of years ago, but it is now finally nearing completion. Sporting a 2.5 litre block with JE pistons and Carillo rods, the WRX employs a T51R turbo and Fcon V Pro from HKS and will run on methanol.

Matt and the STM team will have the car ready for its first public outing at the Redline drag day in late October.

This car was claiming 590 AWKW at the treds from some dyno sheet with an internally gated GT3582R with a late peak of 35psi where you could see it running out of puff.

I'd love to see a quarter mile to back that up..

is ur intake manifold custom fabricated? looks pro dude, and everything else look nice and neat love your turbo how it's mounted
you definately have done some propper work to it i will say that.

how are those hose clamps at your throttle body holding up..pipe not popping off or anything??

Actually its a shit manifold I'm waiting on new fabricator to start making a new one.

This manifold split with only 18psi 250ish awkw along a seam which has been re-welded up just so I can get some km's on the engine in the meantime.

The welds were linished a bit too much as well to make it look pretty so there isnt a lot of weld holding it together, I guess I'll find out if it can hold 25psi for a meet next month.

The throttle body piping has come off once, the main problem is the split where that pipe ends in the middle of the radiator, its getting a bracket welded to each end to pull them in, might weld a few more dots to grip, everywhere else is tight.

If you are needing a loan don't go wrx cos you'll need another loan 6 months later to fix whatever you break.. except for the later models

If you are looking around the 10-15k mark for a 4wd, I would look at the mitsi GSR 1.8L
