i'm curious as to what everyone thinks of ray box splitting with the andra sc championship?
is it a good or bad thing and why?

Ray box has been doing the 'Sport compact' scene for alot of years. So he's seen what works and what doesn't.
ANDRA is only new to the scene, but with experience in traditional racing - V8's etc. So to get a scene formula will take them a while longer, and for us to put full faith in it.
Both organisers have an open door for suggestions which is always good too.
If we support both, by racing and spectating, there is no reason why both series can't run back to back. And good for any sponsors we pick up on the way.

would be good if they could both kiss and make up. imagine an 7 round SC championship, or 6 once jamboree is made into the end of championship event
I think both are great, only sports compact is made for this new breed of racing, not v8s.The biggest event on the calander is jambo queensland, run by ray,the more racing the better, with more sponcers and prize money for all, andra or sports compact support it and we will all win
Why has he split? Does this mean any events he runs/organises will no longer be part of the Sport Compact season? Even though I am a rotor head I have always believed Group 1 to be the best racing in the country bar none. These two realms of drag racing should be definitely be kept seperate.

ray split over a dispute about sponsorship. andra wanted more money from the events that ray ran...the events where ray arranged the sponsorship.
ray's events (5) are under the sport compact drag racing series, andra's events (all 2 of them) are under andra sport compact.
i think andra has a lot to gain from embracing sport compact racing - afterall just look at how many modified import cars there are on the road. however on the flip side drag racing of any kind in this country needs andra (imo)
Ray Box has had a heap of years to fine tune the S/C( Jamboree)scene, but ANDRA have been around alot longer, who knows what might happen next??
Im hoping that they can co operate with each other and run some good events.
