There are a lot of dickhead drivers at any of this kind of an event

In my opinion its poorly organised.
The staff go absolutely mental at the sight of a wheel spin on the track and proceed to pull out their pretend cop car with lights flashing, cutting off other entrants so that they can scream abuse and stick their fingers up at you and inform you that burnouts are not permitted. Saw this numerous times.
The reason people go is to muck around, do a skid etc.
The drags arent worth entering unless you can run an 8, then again its on a rubber filled track with zero grip. Otherwise youll get 1 run and a 9 second torana will knock you out.
Then there are the tools that enter. When you are coming into a tight corner under brakes think its a race and try overtaking at 200kmh - ending up in the kitty litter.
I entered this year after 4 years of watching. Dont think ill bother again. It was alright but not worth the $200 entry fee.

Move it to Calder to stop the neighbours complaining, Create a burnout pad ( worked for WSID) add in some real drag racing and watch the good times roll..
its great, its local, and u can just have a great weekend. Its what you make of it really ive entered every year and had a ball, ive done crazy shit on the track, burnouts everywhere, off the clock passes and they do tell you off, just ignore them and if they kick you off you can go back on so who cares.

Easternats = Total waste of time
Took the Camaro out for a laugh and had a shitful weekend
If you don't have a pit garage you're out the back where you cant see anything
Everyone is burnout crazy in $200 gemini's with a trading post 308 in them - JUNK!
The drags are fun but once again poorly organised. Anyone can cheat or jump the lights and you are racing on rubber marbles if you're in the right lane.
All in all to sum it up:
EASTERNATS IS SOMETHING YOU DEFINITELY MUST EXPERIENCE BUT THEN YOU WILL REGRET AND QUICKLY CHOOSE TO FORGET

You read my mind:)
Pretty fair summary I think. Entered a few times in the HG, and had an OK time, but a fair bit of stress involved with the packed out pits, and queing for hours. THen you have to battle with the sh!tboxes out on the track.
I do like the street drags though, concept rather than the actual event. Heads up street racing is great (in a safe environment)

Well if alot of you guys dont go much on Easternats you dont have to worry about going anymore cause Gazzanats is coming to Victoria every year in March.
If they cut down on the entrant limit(maybe 450 cars maximum) get rid of that burnout lane on the front straight, have a criteria to enter so shitbox geminis and vn's cant get in then I reckon it would be the best event ever.

Update: Easternats is now only saturday and sunday! Two days only... I guess that cuts cruising time in half!
