Hi all,

I thought I might just brag a little about my efforts at the track tonight. I rocked up pretty late to the 7-11 session as i woke up at about 8:15 from an afternoon nap. Thankfully I had the car prepaird and ready to go. So I drove down to willowbank, got through the front gates, changed my plugs, and lined up for my first pass...

I put a little bit of timing in through my hand controller as my current tune is very safe and I have a bit of headroom to play with... Anyway I dropped the tyre pressure in my M/T ET street radials (255 50 16) to 16psi and i was ready to go...

Did a bit of a soft burnout as i didnt want to break anything with the sticky tyres and staged up...
I took onboard about 5500rpm and let the clutch out softly and got a bit of wheelspin of the mark and went down the track full steam ahead...My mates where waiting at the time box with thumbs up so i knew it was a good pass - 11.5@125.6mph with a 1.8 60 foot...

I was pretty happy but i knew the car had more in it...
On inspection my boost dropped off a bit due to the timing advance so i played with my AVCR to get boost back upto 19psi...

I went back and this time put a little bit more extra timing in as well as a pinch of extra fuel and did a bit of a bigger burnout...I staged up and dialed up about 6500-7000rpm on board and let the clutch go fairly nicely, and the car just planted its arse end down and took of like a m0therfarker! As I was crossing the line i noticed that my shiftlight went off as well...i thought i may have gone up a tad in mph...

When i went back to the timebox my mates where cheering and told me that i reeled of an 11.1@131.2mph!!!

Whats more impressive I thought was the 1.6 60foot and not breaking anything!!!

Well thats my story for tonight, there is PLENTY more left in the current setup, all I have to do now is play with my cam gears add a bit more boost and hopefully I'll crack an easy 10 at around the 135mph mark on 21ish psi and pump fuel!

A big thanks goes out to Ben and Rob at East Coast Customs for helping me out today with my suspension setup...

This time was done on 19psi and using an SR20DET motor in an S13 silvia body and the stock 5spd manual...

Where do i start with the setup...

SR20DET:
20 thou oversized CP pistons
eagle rods
stock crank
arp head studs
tomei headgasket
Ferrea 1mm oversized exhaust valves
HKS valve springs
HKS step 3 cams
HKS Lash killer kit
bit of head porting and polishing
Tomei cam gears
custom stainless exhaust manifold
turbonetics 42mm external gate
3" exhaust system
600x300x100 drag cooler
Apexi RX6 turbo - modified...
Splitfire Ignition system
Microtech Ignitor
900cc injectors
twin walbro 550hp intank pumps
Z32 afm
Apexi power fc
Apexi AVCR
Stock S14 5spd box
"Direct clutch" clutch

Thats pretty much it hey...I probably have missed out on a few things here and there but thats the general gist of it...

All mechanical work bar exhaust was undertaken by myself and my motor was built by my friend/engine builder Matt Graham.

Ill go back for a retune soon and head to the track with a bit of weight reduction in order to snag that 10sec pass on pump fuel and street tyres.

What lurks beneith the bonnet...

Congrats on becoming number 6 in HPI streetdrags man. Looks like a real sleeper. How much power you putting down on the dyno?

looks like a lot of money

if you take a 69 dodge dart with a $400 440cu in v8 $1000 rear end add convertor $150, intake manifold $150, carb $100 exhaust $300, mild home port work, cam $150, 175 shot of nitrous,$300, gut it out and put those mickey thompson et streets and you'll run 11.1 or better I'm not saying I don't like it I do but I'm saying that's a lot of work and money for a small motor small car to go so so fast

Unfortunatly the silvia has been written off, however I have recently purchased another shell which has wider guards and will hopefully be under 1250kg after i finish with it but this one will have a cage so 10s will be on the cards...

The car has made 360rwhp on PITS dyno in qld but dropped down to 330rwhp in the top end rpm due to cam gear timing not being setup, before the old shell was written off it made 390-400rwhp with an extra 2psi and cam gear adjustments and held it to the 8200rpm red line so im expecting 135-140mph trap speeds...

LOL at 64dartsb - There are plenty of ways to go quicker down the 1/4 mile however I chose this way as I like the jap drag radial scene more than the old fashiond v8 slick auto drag racing, I like running high mph and having fun down the strip...i dunno im weird i guess...
