hey guys & girls i'm in the process of buildin a turboed motor for the vb
can any1 help me regarding low comp pistons 4 my 304! i've had no luck finding any just heaps of flat tops.
the old holden v8 has been around for about 40 years and turbos even longer so i would reckon someone wouldve made pistons to suit????
Does anyone know of any low comp preferably forged pistons, or a flat top that can safely be modified without leaving the crown too thin.
cheers

Why not just run a forged dish top like the factory piston and then use a set of 2mm cometic head gaskets? Works good on the V6 supercharged engines we do. I think federal mogul make forged pistons for the 5L.

The amount of money it costs for a set of forged 308 pistons, may as well go for a complete 355 rotating assembly. You'd be crazy not to go for the extra cubes. I get calls from people asking for forged 308 pistons and i give them the choice of how much a 355 rotating assembly is and guess which way they decide to go ;)

Scat/Eagle 355 crank, Scat chev rods and Probe forged chev 383 pistons. For around $1600 you will have a complete bottom end using I beam rods or add another $150 or so if using H beams.

Using chev journal cranks makes everything so much easier and most importantly cheaper when it comes to piston and rod choice.
