View Full Version : oz mod
Who will win the oz mod class championship? It has 2 B the closest class, with heaps of unreal cars. My pick critta.Really to many to choose from.
Depends on what you are talking about. Ozmod as it is is so far only scheduled for two meetings at WSID. Street289 in the Sport Compact Group series is over 5 meetings across the eastern seaboard, so the winner will no doubt need to travel.
Pat is a good pick, although hopefully we will have something to say about it in the Street289 series.
Grumpe 2 is now showing cood consistancy, i like your big bunrouts damien, but i think now is the time to race and leave some of the showy stuff behind and establish yourself as a contender in the 289 and ozmod class.
pat is a good racer, the guy in the white datto ute with the ca18 is the man to beat inmy opinion, he has good race tactics and is spot on his dial in 95% of the time which is what you need to be to win races in any class.
as far as outright speed and et's we are going to see huge improvements again this year, with grumpe2 running big numbers with more in it by the sounds of things, mr12a, dragme when it gets back to the track, pat should dip into the 8's this year still with the supra box, gary's BIGHIT went 8.59 second pass out at 159mph with a c4, and backed up a 8.75 at 159mph on the third pass with the car. with more wheel time and the power wound in i believe there is an 8.39 in the car when fully sorted, thats pretty huge against the clutchless guys in my opinion. HYPTUP looks like it will be at the pointy end.
i think this calss is going to be a great specticle.
i'll have a built engine in the new year, i am thinking about coiming to play with you rotor boys to mix it up a bit in the limited tyre class.
Ever seen the times the car runs with a little skid?
There is method to my madness.......
I think this class is the best racing, there are so many good cars, with huge power on small slicks ...very cool! looking forward to the bright future

Chris Adams doesn't race outside of Queensland, so he won't win any series. Only those prepared to travel to Sydney will have a chance in OZ MOD.
(for those who don't know - OZMOD is ANDRA sport compact , 2 rounds and ST289 is Sport Compact Group, 5 rounds)
By the way, I'm ready to win!:D

will you be racing in the victorian round too spankme_rotor/grump2/ijz747?
would be good to finally not have to buy an airfair to watch some of australias most exciting cars in my favourite class!!
Also, at least with the sport compact group setup (OHC 6cyl allowed), street289 should have a fair few local very fast vl turbos in the mix!!
see how i go with my POS at a street meet and i might race in street rwd.
i've got all intentions of doing all 5rounds.
Not going to do much with the car, maybe take out a little weight and a new set of seals.
Hey Syd how long till we see some big burnouts out of your car?:D

Hey 'syd', I suggest you edit the title to ozmod/st289
Waiting on Ray's reply regarding confirmation of a venue for the planned Victoria round.
I also plan to make the trip. :)
Ray told me he is 99.9% certain its going to be at heathcote the price difference in hiring the track is astronomical! and insurance is another issue at CP due to the grass along the sides of the track. for this year at least i will be very suprised if its at calder.
Big burnouts...we will see; i need 2 worry about my gear changes... wheels up to all running in this class and watch out critta, apparentyl george r has something for you....mabe the rx2 GRUMP long live the rx2
