Now why didn't you use a RB26DETT just don't see why it is just as capable man it even better than a 2JZ

The toyota motor is cheaper and stonger to do up you can press 500KW out of a JZ on stock bottom end where as you need spend big $ on the 26 Just to make it last over 350KW
get that up ya 'nissan is king' MHMAD has done his research

I think the power claims of stock 2JZs vs RBs are BS, there are heaps of stock 2JZ which have blown up making less power than that - you just don't get people boasting about that kind of thing. At least in NZ, there are heaps of stock RBs running around pumping impressive power - one 200000km+ old RB30 bottom end was used to push a tubbed S13 body into the 8s. I know plenty making over 350kw out of stock RBs.
Nonetheless, a 2JZ R33 is a pretty cool project - good luck and I look forward to seeing progress :)

reason being by people blowing a stock jz block to peices is coz they think they can bolt anything on to the side of it and expect it to make huge amounts of power with a little tune, you need to sit there and tune everything perfectly, may takes u a few hours on the dyno but with the potential of the jz engines its well worth the time, ive herd of a bloke in nz pushing a whooping 700rwhorsies out his skyline with just simple bolt ons and a bloody good tune, its possible yes but as for the N/A rb30 blocks that werent originally a turbo motor pushing huge amounts of boost through them is a ticking time bomb, the stock pistons and bore arent as good as poeple think they are, as for there cranks and rods they will take 300rwkw easy with simple balances.

What about BIGPSI? 9.7..Stock RB30, the PET skyline? Stock RB30 9.9.. Sure its a time bomb, but for 100bucks its a good value bottom end. Pleanty of 10sec cars too. I guess you are after something more powerfull??

is bigpsi using stock pistons as well ?
is bigpsi using stock pistons as well ?
BIGPSI does not have stock bottom end it has a Bottom end rebuilt to standard specs using modern parts, there is a bit of a difference. Still hugely impressive though.

i think bresciani's platnm (old setup low-mount turbo) had a stock bottom end when it ran the 10.1

i think bigpsi is using after market pistons isnt it just stock rods?
and as for platnum all that changed on the car since the low mount set up was a top mount set up and is now using a wastegate instead of the twin bov's oh and has custom trailing arms now to accommodate the dish of the fr's
