Hey there Wazza I think what we saw at AIR with the gazzanats
thats the best we can expect for ages even if any one wins at court
im sure the other party will appeal which adds months and years to it all.
SOOooo as far as im concerned its all over fella ,a year without any racing
shit you know how SAD really, when it does eventually happen though people will just stop going to Eastern states to race and race local so only the hardcore racers will compete so yeah dunno Hard to be positive sorry!!!

Anyway, would be good to keep in the loop of whats going on with the outcome as i guess what was once a very strong region for drag racing is now a shadow of its former self.

As info comes to hand can you all please keep us in the loop.

Wazza Wazza Wazza.....:D Howdy habib..I think with all the crap and the romours that waft around adelaide its sometimes hard to believe. ive heard about 4 different types of conversations since the last one i had with you on the way to lala...its good to keep a keen eye but i think most of the guys will play it by ear and when it happens it will..

i think most guys will resort to racing elsewhere if the can afford to..

Well I went today for the whole day. 9:45-4:15.

First I must say anyone thinking about becoming a lawyer needs there head checked.

I'm not sure with all thats being going on with everyone talking there BS if people really know what the case is about.

I don't think the case is being close to over.It a very very big mess with tons of different people, date, companys, investors, and EVIDENCE.
Even the judy got lost today and asked for him to summarize what he was trying to say. There so many different parts to the case and going for only one day makes it hard to catch up.

What it sounds like is even if Nowak wins he doesnt get the track. He just gets out of the contract. Then they where talking about property that was bob jane's Dad that was not part of the deal.Nowak pulled out of the contract in the cooling off period then they went on about that and how there shouldnt have being one because of some other BS for about an hour.

It was sold for 2.4m but then Nowak pulled out of the deal with his investors.

Sometimes it sounds like there talking about the whole track and then other times just the deposit.

I spent a lot of time just looking at one of the legal aid's.:)

FWIW, I called AIR, they are waiting for the final judgement to be handed down. Until that happens they cannot hold a drag racing meet
Anyway, IF Bob wins they hope to schedule meets pretty soon including Nostalgia Drags. If the other bloke wins they are not sure what will happen.

I am not too sure how long the judgement stays there though.

I also called AIR (8280 8154) and the lady that answered the phone said that she hoped to have details in the next couple of months, when that happens the website will be reinstated with details and I am welcome to call back at any time.

ive heared a rumour form a couple of well known drag racing boys that theres gonna be a new track built in the new few years which will host all the new drag championships, bike championships and top fuelers..the track will be level and almost 100% flat...

you wont see air up and running again for top of the line drags...the tracks too up and down (thrashed) and there isnt a long enough runoff..

it wouldnt suprise me is bob jane won..hes an absolutle ass clown..

but adelaide is gonna have atleast 3 major events per year now..les adams who runs the murray bridge auto fesat has now siggned a 10 year contract to hold the event at murray in january for 3 days im sure..kym from extreme powerrfest is gonna do a yearly 1day show at AIR im sure...you've got Gary and Deby myers doing the 2 day show of Gazzanationals this year (althought i heard they only signed a 3 year contract).. then youve got all the inbetwen burnout comps at speedway city and collingrove hillclimb and burnout pad..

there is plenty of potential but yet no one wants to pull their finger out and throw real money on the table..not many adelaide people like to spend..if it was qld on the other case then you'd make a fortune..

We have run 16 extreme events over the past 10 years and try to bring Adelaide as close as possible to a drag racing event.
There is Street Drags up on the calender for approx 6 mths at AIR , I have been told by management that this is NOT OFFICIAL NEWS so who knows. We deal with the track on a regular basis and I myself have been told , Yes the lights are working , the track is ABOVE average cond , no we will never see anything running there under 10 sec. If you want more info phone the track , we are keeping out of this subject now. Our Extreme Powerfest & Extreme Horsepower Show (dec 8th) will be as close as you can have to drags at present , Powerskids , match racing Go to Whoa , Drag Car Powerskids will be still enough to get the blood pumping. (LOOKING AT END MARCH/APRIL AIR FOR OUR "ADELAIDE POWERFEST")

** EXTREME HP SHOW DEC 8TH CANCELLED AT AIR **(moved back to Wayville - new show - new owner) THIS IS DUE TO THE MAJOR INCREASE OF DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF TRACK HIRE FEES (EXTRA $20,000 WE CANNOT FIND THIS EXTRA COST AND REFUSE TO PAY. WE THANK EVERYONES SUPPORT AND ARE LOOKING AT OTHER VENUES BUT CANNOT CHANGE WHOLE SHOW IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS. WE ARE THE LAST SA OWNED MAJOR CAR SHOW ORGANIZERS AND THE FIGHT STILL CONTINUES AGAINST THE INTERSTATE SHOWS TAKING OVER SA. MANY ARE ON THE WAR PATH.

I heard a new rumor this morning that December 1st is the go so i thought i'd take it upon myself to ring AIR and see what was going on. i spoke to the lady there, Jo i think and she was very up beat about it all. A date has not been set as such yet but everything is in the works to get the street meets happening again. One thing she pointed out is that they are focusing on many safety aspects of the complex, especially spectator safety. I mentioned to her about Dec 1st and she said that while it was not in concrete they would still like to try for Dec 1st. Basically the drags ARE returning to AIR but just a lot of red tape and bullshit to get through first i suppose. She also mentioned that uncle Bob is more than enthusiastic about making it happen. So there you go!!!!

Even if AIR opens, I'd imagine that the prices will be greatly inflated.
Judging by the news of the Extreme HP show being cancelled due to the doubling of hire fees I am sure Bob is going to sting everyone else using the track.
The next best option is to throw some support behind the Riverland Track -
http://com4.runboard.com/briverlandmotorsportclubinc
Apparently they are just waiting on paperwork, then it's all go.

BTW, I find it hard to believe Bob has left it this late to have his say on a forum, if he really cared that much there would be announcements or press releases on the AIR sites.

Yep we have had to cancel our Show dec 8th because we were hit with the track hire price to DOUBLE !! who would agree to that ! we were to be about $25,000 short to do the show , its hard enough around Adelaide to get good paying sponsors to do a show in Adelaide at the best of times , many are strugling , and of course they want it all BEFORE the show !! All this makes the track popularity worse, hey we all want more action events happening so yes we do need a track that we can run good events at and at a sensible hire fee price. Even if we came up with that amount , how much will it be next time ?? Ive been fighting hard to keep our shows going but when we get kicked in the guts like this what do ya do , Extreme Shows , 2 x show cars etc are all up for sale at present because weve had a gut full !! yes more good shows are disappearing in Adelaide , give us a yell when someone finds a good venue for us to use (mallala is not keen on our events either , ive already asked Clem Smith personally )

Yes we did pay
Yes our hire fee increased
No special treatment, just very hard work.

Just because we are not from SA, does that mean that we cant run a event in a different state. Sick of hearing that crap of Interstate Promoters
How about what we are doing, the prize pool, all the positive things.
We have been entrants in this scene for 20 odd years.
Done the home work, have the support from
Entrants, Sponsors, Magazines, AIR Staff & Spectators.

Hey Gary & Deby , being personal friends for 4 or 5 years with you both was upsetting for us to see you put on a show , simular to ours , booked 2 weeks before ours in oct, doesnt matter what you say , that still hurts us big time and will never get over it. Hey if you had talked to us , as friends , and say you were keen to hold a show , other time of the year , we would have no problem , we would be still friends & promoting your show. This is not to dig up old wounds but yes there is still problems there as you say, with our indoor show being taken on by our good friend geof , we wish him well but we are still keen to hold our outdoor POWERFEST , which we do like to add more variety , not just burnouts. We have re registered the extreme powerfest name "ADELAIDE POWERFEST " which we were looking at doing again at end of march / beginning of april 2008 , talking with the track today , have heard you are trying to hold another show around that time as well ?? whats up with that , we were keen to hold our powerfest at that time , as per this year , we just want to be able to run our show with no bullshit too but we keep getting kicked in the guts , thought you were doing melb then ?? car show promoters SHOULD play the game fair , if they want respect." we were trying to add in drag racing into powerfest , but have been told we would never get insurance cover for that track. Track pricing is VERY expensive as we now know , we cant afford it , and who would pay approx $50,000 for 2 days hire !! its just greed , imagine how many more events we could hold or anyone if the hire fees were sensible , weve made some inquiries to interstate tracks and a few are down to 1/4 of the price adelaide track is asking , this is true fact why the nostalgic drags was canned in SA due to the track hire price !! maybe we all go to riverland track ?? no new news on sa drags .........

AIR aren't committing to dates at the moment.

Don't hold your breath for ANDRA to do anything local, I have contacted them a couple of times and they don't have the decency to reply to my emails. They are probably too busy counting their money from the license fee hikes.

Yeah it is going to be built at the Field day site. To get the you go through Barmera and turn left at the Monash/Renmark sign and it's about a km or 2 on the left.

As for AIR i believe it will open again.

Just because we grumble about no off-street drag racing  , some of us are actively pushing to get drag racing back. Apparently Christopher Skase has put in an offer of $62,564,087 to puchase A.I.R:p
Can't you guys read? did anyone look at who was putting the offer up? LOL

Anyway, sources and the complete inaction of AIR for the past few years would say that drag racing of any sort will not be held at AIR in the new future. I just hope Bob makes me eat my words :D

Some encouraging news posted on the Riverland Motorsport forum, which kind of adds up with other stuff I have heard.

It can happen, not Motorplex, not full on, just 10sec street cars.
How many takers have I got?

Looks like approval has gone through for the Barmera track (concrete 1/4mile), and heard some construction/earthworks has begun, might drive over and see for myself and contact a few in the know before I get too excited.

1st off - the tailem bend Motor park is owned by the Coorong Shire Council.

At a recent meeting of the development committee , the following was included in the Minutes:

- sounds positive at least:

http://www.coorong.sa.gov.au/webdata..._June_2011.pdf (http://www.coorong.sa.gov.au/webdata/resources/files/Strategic_Planning_and_Development_Policy_Committe e_-_Agenda_-_23_June_2011.pdf)

Council staff met with Brenton Lewis and Dylan Strong from Regional Development
Australia (RDA) Murraylands Riverland on 9 June 2011. Several issues were raised
at this meeting including:
• RDA is keen to work more closely with Council to promote opportunities for
regional and economic development.

• The Tailem Bend Motorsport Park masterplan needs to progress quickly to ensure the opportunities for the motorsport development come to fruition.
If it does not look like the motorsport concept can be successful then Council should look at alternatives for the site which has significant strategic opportunities however it was agreed that the motorsport park development would bring many benefits for the Council area and Murraylands region if it proceeds.

Soooo..............

I was able to have it confirmed by a rep of the Coorong Shire Development committee that negotiations are going ahead with a consortium to "develop" the Motor Sport park.

These negotiations are "In Confidence" so thats all he would tell me.

So it ain't dead yet.;)
