MCGREGOR GOES PRO TURBO

Kiwi Reece McGregor (http://www.fullboost.com.au/forum/Reece_McGregor.php), is best known for his record breaking Heat Treatments Ltd, GT-R Skyline. At the 2006 Fast Fours Jamboree, McGregor smashed the long standing HKS AWD Skyline Record, with a 7.577sec pass @ 191.24mph. Having conquered this mile stone, the Heat Treatments Ltd team has their eye's firmly set on the Pro Turbo category!

"We have been looking forward to making the move to the Pro Turbo class, and the Jerry Bickell built full chassis 2007 Model Nissan 350z is the chosen package. When we ran the GT-R 4WD, we weren't able to use the power the engine would produce. We just couldn't get it to the ground" explains McGregor. "One of the other Factors that made things difficult with the 4WD was the weight factor; coming in at 1320kgs/2900 lbs with driver it's a heavy car.

We have been continuing our engine development program with the RB26 engine in the Skyline, and anticipation is high that we'll have an even more powerful package sorted ready to install in to the Bickell 350Z. At this stage we plan to run a Nissan RB26 engine, Liberty gearbox, and the car will be arriving in NZ in early July. When we have a handle on the new combination, it is our plans to make our way back to Australia to run the car at the 2007 Fast Fours Jamboree at Willowbank Raceway. The Heat Treatments team is really looking forward to the coming season." said McGregor. In closing Reece said to us, the Toyota 2JZ guys better be on top of their game, because Nissan is coming to play! Stay tuned to www.sportcompact.net.au (http://www.sportcompact.net.au/) over the coming months for updates on the Heat Treatments Ltd Pro Turbo 350Z.

BOWDEN & HARVEY SET FOR EXTENDED AUSSIE PRO COMPACT ASSAULT

The Rayglass Boats sponsored Pro Compact Datsun 1200 Couple, of Rod Harvey (http://www.fullboost.com.au/forum/Rod_Harvey2.php) and Terry Bowden is on it's way to Australia, for an extended assault on the 2006/2007 Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series. The Rayglass Team are no strangers to Australia, having competed at both the 2004 & 2006 Fast Fours Jamborees, and the 2006 Australian Nationals at Willowbank Raceway. The Team also took out the Prestige's Best Engineered Award at the 2006 Australian Nationals.

"The standard of traction is very inconstant in New Zealand due to the inclement weather we experience most of the year. We've run a best of 7.69sec @ 177mph with the 2Ltr SR20 engine on 38lbs of boost, and in testing our new 2.2Ltr engine, has already run a 7.7sec @ 172mph no low boost. Coming to Australia, will allow us to develop this package quicker, with the more constant traction you Aussie's have on tap" said Harvey.

"We are lucky enough with help from our sponsors, Rayglass Boats, Terry's Chassis Shoppe, Dodson's Motorsports, Auto Refinishers and Pro Coat to be able to leave the car in Australia, and fly back and forth to compete in the 2006/2007 Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series.

130 entries so far

Looks like being alot bigger than last years Mini Jam!

Only 1 small change to my car for the event which will mean an extra contingency sticker. Every bit helps the industry.
