Doing up a 1984 XE Falcon S pack

I have recently bought a XE Falcon off my Aunty ($500:) ) and yeah...

I want to just fix it up first, of course, because I am poor lol, only 15...:o Hoping to get a job soon so I can do more but yeah...


I want to do it right up, wether to just be a street car or a drag car I don't know, because drag cars aren't cheap lol:mad:


Now to the point, I want to know some Idea's of what to do to my falcon?

Any Idea's wether engine, body, interior, steroe + speakers or w/e, drive line anything and everything. :p

Oh and, It is an S pack, but I have 4 12 slotters and 1 S pack wheel..should I buy 4 S pack wheels off my mate or swap my 12 slotters for them? To make it more original?

do you like turbo's or V8's? might be worth leaving it as a NA 6 until your off your P's, maybe spay it, lower it, rims, sound system, then you can change motor if you wanna keep the car or you can sell the car and keep the rims and sound system for the next car :) hope that helps a bit dude

S pack, so im guessing its still carby?

Cheapest way to get more power would probably to go to pick a part or a wreckers and buy a complete EFI engine and all the EFI gear needed from an unleaded XF. That way you will have a fair power increase (about 15kw!) just from that, and then add the bonus of it already setup properly for unleaded. Put in a cam at the same time, a set of extractors and you will probably have a pretty decent first car!

I don't mind turbo's but love V8's more...Yeah gotta spray it, and may be hard to lower it, as it's an S Pack it has a low front bumper....and thanks, that does help, gives me a few ideas.:)


Yes it's carby, hmm I'll think about the efi....sounds pretty good though. Oh and I have extractors and sports pipe and muffler, btw.

Whoops i stuffed the url. Mines about 2.5+ lower than standard and I have the spac lip. U just need to be careful with it and listen close for scraping. I'm yet to scrape going over bumps and the like. So drop it

hey nice car man i would definaly respray it the ford blue it would look hot omg i can so see it now driving down the street. um he doesnt have to go unleaded he can go on gas if he likes its way cheaper. and if he gets an 8 even better. make sure u go straight gas though and not dual fuel.

But thats one of the last things I can do, I need some PS Pump gear so I can install my new PS pump. Gotta get all the steering checked aswell. :mad:

Oh and with the gas, why is it better than unleaded/leaded?

hey hows it going i used to have a xe falcon just like yours after 18 months and working a crappy job at pizza hut when i was 16 i was able to get it to run very low 11's down the quarter mile unfortunatly my scanner is on the fritz so i cannot post the pictures but i hope this info doesn't disharten you it can be done everything you are wishing to do there is a group in latrobe valley victoria called logues auto wreckers they have heaps of xd-xf falcons and fairmont ghia's if you like the bonnet headlight config also they are good on price they have helped me since i was 16 and thats been almost12 years at the moment im inbetween doing up a xc ute wishing to break the 9 sec barrier with a motor built myself on a small budject the bod on your ford looks really good should do up well :cool: if you happen to get to calder raceway on a friday night you might see me in my ute it's saturn blue with white cobra stripes :)

hey budy stick with a six plenty of power to be had from a 250 crossflow wat ever you do dont put an efi conversion on it she wont run much beter i g=have treid it before afew time if you want cheaper power take a 2barrle manifold of a alloy head that is if you dont already have one try a redline two barrel 350 holley small cam and just small port job and good exhast and it will go much beter or go a bit further use a cain fourbarell or redline fourbarrel use a 600vac heat seeker stage 4 or 5 cam alloy head get the head flowing around 350hp and some decent rod bolts get your self some acl cast race sereis piston and good bearings make the comp around 10.1 and wow it will fly

nice car mate, at the moment im 14, 15 on the 10th of december, i got myself a xw wagon, free of charge, out in the country i saw it and fell in love with it, my dad knocked on the door and the women said take it, it was her sons and he never came back from over seas to pick it up, it came with books and everything with it, im looking at re-spraying it, purl white so in the sun it goes purple and pink, leaving it standard height and sticking a turbo on it, which means ill need to fix the engine up a little. Altho my dads pestering me to take it back to factory looks, so when im older, nd i wana upgrade i can sell it for more.

Once again nice car, you can do alot with xd/xf/xe's if you have goals and good ideas.
