There is a high hp XR6T coming out from GTECH Performance soon.

On a shakedown run on the dyno, only road tuned, it made 422rwkw on low boost at half throttle only to 4000rpm.

Has a 3 Speed C10 auto and built engine, 1200hp turbo/external gate ect ect.

Expecting big things out of this machine.

Cheers :):)

There is another XR6T still in development from what i heard last from Nizpro Turbocharging. They have an engine that ran 1163hp on an engine dyno and since then they hav been able to squeeze 1250hp out of it. It would be interesting to see that run if they can get the power down. The video was on Fb a while ago, the 1 where the turbo pipes are glowing red hot! If anyone know anymore about the engine/car please let me know.

From what I understand, Nizpro aren't concentrating any effort's to drag race that sort of set up due to driveline breakages.
If they were to slip that package into a properly set up XR6 Turbo, then who know's what sort of record's would be achieved.

INFLYT

Im actually suprised that the record has stood for so long, with all the development that has gone on with the XR6 Turbo.
Im aware of at least 20 XR6 Turbo's that have made more power than the 400 + rwkw's that were needed to crack the 9 second barrier, yet they still persist with unprepared car's (street tyre's, manual boxes, full weight).

NOSPIG
24-10-06, 07:31 PM
Theres alot of big power cars not achieveing the numbers they should, however at the end of the day, if street tyred and street trimmed cars are your thing then more power to ya

Myself, i love big motors big power and big slicks

INFLYT
24-10-06, 11:17 PM
There's not too many people willing to commit their shiny new XR6 Turbo's to full on drag strip duties just yet, but as some of those Winter White ex chaser's start getting auctioned off in the mid to low $20k's, they'll start showing up with race wheel's/stripped interior's/2 speed powerglides etc. ;)

WReXPoWeR
25-10-06, 12:46 AM
yeah, thats the one.

Fantastic looking car. And has already surpassed 400+kw atw in run in tune.

But also as said above, just because you have the power does not mean it will run the time down the track. It does have the 3 Speed Auto in it, so now the rest of the driveline needs setting up.

Good luck to them and anyone else going for the XR6T record :):)

If XR6T8U were to be set up properly for drag racing, with a 2 speed powerglide/transbrake, billet CV's up the back, stripped interior, and slicked up, there's no doubt an easy 9 second pass would be on the card's. :)

Hey guy's, I am the owner of XITMNT. I have been told by a friend about all this stuff on this forum and I have to tell you guys that I'm a little disappointed that so many people that dont know me or my car can have so much to say about the subject. I didnt build this car to upset anyone or prove anything, it was a way for me and my brother who happens to own G-Tech to do somthing we both enjoy together. I, like any other car buff would like to have a fast car, and at a ripe age of 42 sometimes I wonder why I bother when all this starts. G-Tech as most other workshops have the expertise to build a car that is capable of doing the quarter mile time required but as most workshops know not many customers have the financial resources required to pay for the parts to build a car that will be consistantly fast and stay together, I am fortunate enough to have my own succesfull business to enable me to do this now, but I do remember what it was like to want a fast car and not have the money to buy what I want when I want. So I dont believe that this debate should be about workshops as they all know how to build a fast car. So as a parting comment I mean no malice to anybody and look forward to hopefully meating some of you and racing with you as this is suppose to be a relaxing hobby not a task as we all have enough of those in our jobs or businesess.

Many of the 5 speed gearboxes have failed once they've approached the 300 kilowatts @ the wheel's mark, so you wouldn't want to push further than that.
If you were to get serious about drag racing, then an auto transmission is the go, otherwise if it's going to be a full time streeter, go manual. ;)

The car is at the workshop as we speak getting prepared for action, and was coincidently compression tested on my request just to make sure everything is 100% before it get's pushed.
