i see plenty around the broadymeadows are. and they multyply by the day. they will be just as popular like the vl turbos. :)

its funny this turbo rivalry is becoming like the old v8 rivalry when it was all falcon gt's and monaros so in ten years i hate to think what the rivalry will be like when the xr6 turbos are chepper
I know alot of people with XR6 Turbo's, just seems not many are pushing them as hard as VL's (yet) but it will happen

bit off topic but i was at calder and saw 2 XR8's break things during their runs, there must be some weak points in those fords.

The weakest points in the XR6Ts are mainly gearbox's expecially when you are making 300+kw also standard conrods fail around 300kw aswell
I read on Nizpro's forum they have made a xr6t motor make 1250hp on a engine dyno recently
was a while ago they did that, what happened to that motor anyone know ?

I have just supercharged my BA 6cyl, it is not intercooled and it's running at 8psi. It was dynod at 210rwkw with a safe tune, if I want it to go harder I would have to think about upgrading the valve springs, con rods and decompressing the engine. Then comes the intercooler:D The mechanic told me that stock con rods can bend under boost, he was going to show me a bent one but I didn't have the time to see it. There is the auto gearbox as well, I have fitted an aftermarket cooler to it to keep the temp down. The auto's are not rated for extreem kw's so that is something to keep in mind as well.
Some are already getting sorted as we speak, but give it time.
I predict XR6 Turbo's WILL be the next big thing in about 1-2 year's time, as they're still fairly new, and abit expensive for some of the WRX/200SX buying youngster's. ;)

still working on it chasing more power. Those big power motors are super strong and they are building motors for people making over 1000hp on a regular basis so dont be suprised if you see some full blone drag animals making some mega low passes in the next year or two. Also from memory for the figure junkys a motor with 1000hp only runs 25psi..... not bad i say.
my younger bro is 17 and all hes mates wanna buy are ford xr6 turbos so yer they are deffently going to be more popular with years 2 come good luck to them lol :D

boost kick in at 2000 rpm if i give full a for a good haif hour the boot lid is full black what do you think to rick:confused:

many are still under factory warranty which would be voided by any mods done and many are just bought by people who instead of buying a fairmont ghia/statesman have jumped on the turbo bangwagon and given them a go.
give it at least 3 years before you see big things out of many of them on a regular basis when warranty on all BA/BF's is over ;)

a few of the turbos seem to be just about sorted at the moment.
give it a couple of months when the weather gets cooler and we should see some great times

F6 typhoon best car ford ever built.
thats crap the typhon is a gr8 car but the computer system is totaly different and that means that u cant get the normall edit and eg u pay more for a typhon cos its a performence and the XR 6 turbo is a little bit slower stock but alot less to mod up but i guess the choice is the buyers

the typhoon has forged internals and the Xr6T is pretty much stocko shity parts, thats why the tyhoon has more potental and more people are intrested in them

You'd be better off pulling down an XR6T motor and putting in argo rods and aftermarket pistons, then modding from there. Could probably do it for $20,000 less than a Typhoon, and you'd have a motor that is much stronger

neither of you know what your talking about. edit doesnt cost more for a typhoon. and typhoons dont have forged motors. they had better rods and valve springs and a slighlt bigger cooler than BAs but they would wanna with the money they ask. but now BF series 2 and onwars have the same motor

the xr6turbos are already in the low 10's and there is also a 9sec xr6turbo. so give them a little bit more time and they will be in the 8's.they will be the next vl turbo.

So an RB30 is better than a 4.0L DOHC how? How can you even say that? Its got more cubes, makes way more torque stock, has more cams etc etc. Your entire comment is based on nothing.
I beleive the basic engineering of the VL drive line shits on the XR6turbo! Ive had first hand experiance fixing XR6turbo's. Clutches, gearbox's that look like die cast alloy that have had there input shafts twisted off in a stock engine!! Diffs that dont last the warranty period or even 6 months! I have a few friends and customers that cannot believe how delicate the XR6t is. They are too scared to even give it a bit because they scared it will break. How many VLt drivers are scared to give it a bit???? How many VLt 10sec cars still use stock diffs and even stock manual boxes! I think in 10 years time the XR6turbo will be exstinct and the VL will still be going strong!! My 2cents.:D

what the vl guys seem to forget is the xr6t weighs 1800-1900kgs and the vl weighs around 1250-1350kgs. rule of thumb for every 45kgs lighter is a 10th of a second quicker, so 600kgs lighter would work out be 1.3 seconds quicker. i have run 10.22@136.5 and my car weighs 1886kgs so put my engine in that weight car and it would run 8.9s. i drive my car every day and get 480k's to a tank of fuel.
don't get me wrong, I think the XR6T is a good car (besides the badge:p ). The point I was trying to make is that the VLT's are still at the forfront of performance street cars 20 years after they were released, and alot (not the 8 or 9 second guys) use many factory parts and unopened engines.
If todays knowledge and technology was around when the VLT's were release, they would've probably been running 8s or 9s within months and maybe even 7s by now if not lower. I doubt the XR6T will be durable enough to last 20years. but thats just my opinion.

Top effort Mark/Mauz in the yellow F6 full weight street trim/tyres pulled out a 11.12@132 2.0 60ft.
This car still still uses factory turbo, manifold & dump, diff gears & no hi-stall.
Big returns for relatively small mods, these sleepers bite. These 6spd auto's are great & once the tuning software for comes out to allow hi-stall/tuning etc there there will be a shitload of 10 sec T daily drivers around.

Heard about that one. With an improved take off, that car will run into the 10 second zone no problem's, and in everyday trim!

It is.. Ill be there in a couple of weeks,through most of the stage to getting it there just got to do some fine tuning and it should run 130-132mph. (cross fingers)
