"I guess it all started when i was 16 and bought my first car. Before even going for my P plates I'd already repainted it, lowered the suspension and fitted a much better set of wheels. Needless to say I was pretty keen to start driving though cause before I did my test and ended up doing my fair share of driving in it. Then before even getting my license I already needed something faster! Back then you could buy an old Mazda for a reasonable price, so what I'd intended on having as a cheap, fast car ended up being a a $60k 20B turbo that'd give almost anyone a good scare.
By that time I was finally in a position to buy my first Brock Commodore, not long after I had a VH Group 3, then the blue VK Group 3 I'm well known for. I was starting to earn my MR HDT name by that stage and was really keen to start modifying the VK, so the rotary had to go.
By this stage I was working for a local engine reconditioner as my main job whilst doing performance oriented jobs on the weekends. After a while I moved to another town and started a job where I was porting heads and working with engine and chassis dyno tuning. Following this I moved home and went into the family business. I finished building the blue VK and continued building engines on the side. As the workload became more and more I decided to buy my own chassis dyno and went out on my own getting into the ECU remapping of late model Commodores and Falcons. Since then I've never looked back. I soon found out that there was a serious need in the market place for a real engine builder that does the whole job rather than the tuner blaming the engine builder for shoddy work or vice versa.
Right now I'm building engines for the Fujitsu and Shannons Touring Car Series as well as my regular involvement with the drag racing scene. I run dyno competitions at Powercruise, Kandos and other car shows held in the Mugee and Dubbo area.
So if you're in the market for a high horsepower engine combo, come to the shop where the guy who answers the emails and the phone, also builds your engine, tunes it and is there to greet you when you pick it up. And what you'll get is a no bullshit attitude. You know what you're getting and more importantly, you get what you paid for!"
